Types of scrub
Do not exfoliate more than twice a week, and less often if you have sensitive skin. If you exfoliate too much, you can also damage the good skin cells. Many types of scrubs contain ingredients that can be found in the kitchen. They also serve as a face mask.
Honey is good for fine scrubs to gently exfoliate your skin. Mix a tablespoon of honey with some almond flour and lemon juice. Apply the mixture to the face with some gentle circular movements and let it absorb for a while. Then you rinse it off and your skin feels nice and soft.
Mild facial scrub
There are several gentle scrubs to remove the top dead skin cells from the face. Apply nut oil or another light vegetable oil to your face. Then you add a layer of warm water and then some lemon juice. Leave it on for a minute and rub it over the skin in a circular motion until a small lump forms that you can remove. You can also include the neck and décolleté.
With this soft and cleansing scrub you can make a mild scrub. Oatmeal consists of finely ground oat grains. Place a teaspoon of oat flour on your palm and mix it with water. You can apply the resulting paste to your face. It has a very mild abrasive effect and cleans particularly well. You can also do the same treatment with chickpea flour. You can also use vegetable oil instead of water. You can also add ground almonds for a shiny skin.
Mild almond scrub
You can use ground almonds to gently abrade the skin of your face and body and remove dead skin cells. If you mix the ground almonds with almond oil you have a scrub and mask in one. Gently scrub the skin first by gently rubbing your skin for a few minutes. Let the almond paste sit for fifteen minutes and then rinse it off.
Almond scrubs from India
Soak seven almonds in half a cup of milk overnight. Puree this the next day with a blender, for example. Apply the scrub to the skin in circular movements and let it sit for five minutes before rinsing it off with water.
Kashmir face mask
For this you will need two tablespoons of dried orange peel, two tablespoons of ground chickpea flour or oat flour and two tablespoons of cream. Make a paste of this and apply it generously to the face and neck. When it has dried (after about fifteen minutes) you can remove it with circular movements so that it also works as a scrub. This treatment softens and cleanses the skin and smells nice too.
You can make a delicious Japanese scrub with aduki beans. Grind three tablespoons of aduki beans, for example in a coffee grinder. Add some water to the ground beans and stir until a smooth mass is formed. Apply the mixture to the skin in circular movements, from the chin through the cheeks to the forehead. The result is silky soft skin.
Fresh orange scrub
Mix one tablespoon of freshly grated orange peel, one tablespoon of ground almond, one tablespoon of honey and possibly three drops of orange essential oil. For an even softer result, you can add bran to the scrub. Wet your face and neck and apply the paste in circular movements. Leave it on for a few minutes and then rinse it off. Then rub your face with a nourishing oil, such as avocado oil.
Polenta Yogurt Scrub
Mix a tablespoon of polenta (corn flour) with a tablespoon of yogurt until it forms a paste. Apply the scrub to the skin. It has a positive influence on the blood circulation in the skin, making your face look radiant. You can also use the scrub for the rest of the body.
Refreshing citrus scrub
Mix two tablespoons of yogurt with one and a half tablespoons of crushed citrus peel and two tablespoons of apricot oil. It has a moisturizing effect and is wonderful in the summer.
