Make-up tips: make corrections

Do you ever have minor problems with your makeup? Then these tips can certainly help you make the necessary corrections.

  • Corrections for the eyes
  • Corrections for the complexion
  • Corrections for the lips

Corrections for the eyes

  • Your eye shadow takes up too much surface area : use a cotton swab to “erase” away the excess and then touch up with new eye shadow.
  • You have applied too much color to your eyelid: take a large brush and wipe away the excess. To do this, use inward motions, not outward motions, as this would just smear the color wider.
  • Eye shadow has gotten onto the rest of your face: Wipe the makeup particles away from your face with a large brush. Make outward movements and don’t press down on your brush so you don’t stick the makeup to your face. Keep your movements light. The next time you apply eye shadow, apply a translucent face powder first. Wipe this away with a brush after applying the eye makeup.
  • Your mascara is running : use a waterproof mascara (to remove, use a suitable eye make-up remover). You can also apply a layer of clear mascara over your regular mascara.
  • Mascara has ended up on your already painted eyelid: take a dry cotton swab and dab the mascara with it. Do not make sweeping movements. If this does not work, put a little foundation on the cotton swab.
  • You have applied too much mascara : take a paper tissue and hold it between the upper and lower lashes. Blink the eyelashes as much as necessary. You can also use an eyelash brush to remove excess mascara. Of course, all this will no longer work if the mascara has completely dried. The message is to act quickly.
  • You want to cover up your eye wrinkles : apply anti-wrinkle stick or cream directly to the wrinkles with the stick or with a brush. Make gentle tapping movements with your fingertip. Choose a “cover stick” with a lighter color than your foundation.
  • You want to hide your tired eyes : avoid applying mascara to your lower lashes.

Corrections for the complexion

  • You have applied too much foundation : moisten your foundation foundation sponge and wipe it over your entire face. If necessary, also apply some neutral base cream to the sponge. Then take a paper tissue and press it against your face so that the excess foundation is absorbed into the complexion.
  • Fond de teint has ended up on your eyebrows: take a brush and run it over your eyebrows in all possible directions. Then brush your eyebrows back into shape.
  • You want to hide pigment spots : you can soften the pigment spots by doing a gentle peeling. Then use a camouflage cream or stick that is close to your natural skin color. Pat the product lightly on your skin and run it over the edges of your pigment spot. Repeat this as much as necessary.
  • You have applied too much blush : apply a powder with a make-up brush

Corrections for the lips

Your lipstick is going too far over your lips: use a cotton swab to remove the excess lipstick, possibly with some cleansing lotion on it. Then apply foundation again. Use a lip brush to be more precise when painting your lips.
Your lipstick does not last long enough : first put some foundation on your lips and then some face powder. Only then apply your lipstick.
