Treat and prevent bladder infections naturally

A bladder infection is usually due to a bacterial infection. Many people, especially women, regularly suffer from this. Here are some ways to treat and prevent a bladder infection naturally.

A bladder infection can be recognized by the following symptoms:

  • Constantly feeling like you need to urinate urgently, but the amount of urine is minimal
  • Sharp, burning pain when urinating
  • Blood in the urine
  • Pain in the lower abdomen or back

If you suffer from an inflammation of the kidneys instead of a bladder infection, then in addition to the above symptoms you will also suffer from nausea and vomiting, chills and fever. See a doctor immediately if you think you have inflammation of the kidneys.

The main cause of a bladder infection is when the bacteria in the rectum enter the urinary tract through the vagina. This often happens during intercourse, but also by cleaning yourself from back to front.
Another cause of a bladder infection is waiting too long before urinating. If the bladder expands too much, over time the muscle of the bladder can become weak so that it can no longer empty itself completely. Some of the urine will then remain in the bladder and can cause a bladder infection.
