Preventing, treating and relieving varicose veins

Many women sooner or later suffer from varicose veins. They mainly occur in people who have to stand for long periods of time, which increases the pressure on the legs and prevents the blood from circulating normally in the veins. Varicose veins can be very painful and even dangerous. However, there are various tips and natural treatments that you can use to prevent, treat and relieve varicose veins.

Apple cider vinegar

Massage your legs every morning and evening with a generous amount of apple cider vinegar. You will notice that your varicose veins start to shrink over time.
What you can also do is mix two tablespoons of honey with six tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and rub it on your legs just before going to bed. Put a wrap on it and wash it off again in the morning.

Rosemary oil

Massage your varicose veins daily with rosemary oil. This is an effective natural remedy to stimulate local blood circulation.

Mud

Before going to bed, apply mud to your varicose veins and let it sit all night.

Vitamin E

Apply a vitamin E-based cream or oil to your varicose veins every day. Vitamin E is also very good for preventing varicose veins.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C should be taken daily. 3000 mg per day is best. However, your body has difficulty processing large amounts of vitamin C at once; therefore it is better to spread the 3000 mg over the entire day.

Beta carotene

Take 25,000 international units of beta-carotene daily.

Ginko biloba

The extract of the ginko biloba plant improves blood flow and oxygen supply to the cells. Take 40 mg three times a day.

Vegetable juices and fruit juices

Raw vegetable and fruit juices are known to be highly effective in preventing and treating varicose veins. Prefer a mixture of carrot juice and spinach juice.

Fibres

Eat foods that contain a lot of fiber. Fibers keep the intestines clean and prevent varicose veins from developing.

Cherries and berries

Eat as many cherries and berries as you can. There is no better way to prevent varicose veins.

Pineapple

Drink at least one glass of pineapple juice per day. Pineapple is always particularly effective in treating and relieving varicose veins.

Ginger, onions and garlic

Include as much ginger, onions and garlic in your daily diet as possible to prevent, relieve and treat varicose veins.

Sugars and fats

Avoid junk food, fried foods, sugar, salt, ice cream, cheese, tobacco and peanuts. These cause the veins to clog up, causing varicose veins to develop and/or worsen.

Change position

To ensure optimal circulation, it is important not to stay in the same position for too long. So don’t sit or stand for too long, but alternate.

High heels

Keep high heels to a minimum as much as possible. They prevent blood flow in the legs, causing varicose veins to develop and worsen. The same applies to clothing that is too tight.

Exercise

Exercise several times a week. Swimming, walking and cycling are particularly recommended to prevent and relieve sprains.

Alternating baths and alternating showers (spraying your legs alternately with hot and cold water) are excellent ways to relieve and prevent varicose veins.
